About

I love the mountains… any mountains… any time…
There is my rest, even if I’m physically exhausted… There I always get back on the right path, even if I get lost or don’t know where I am in a geographical sense…
Being in the mountains brings more me out of me if that makes sense. Each and every time spent in the mountains transforms me in some way. Don’t ask me how, don’t ask for details because I don’t know. All I know is that in the mountains, I find God and reconnect with Him much easier than in any other place. I can hear and see Him in a way I cannot do elsewhere.
For each of us and each time it’s different. I can’t put it into words. Look at Abraham, Moses, Elijah or Peter, John and James during the transfiguration or at the Mount Olive, just to name a few. Each experience is completely different, yet all are transforming.
In the mountains, you see everything from a different perspective – literally and metaphorically. There you have to stand in truth – before God, before yourself and before people who are with you – no room for teasing anyone in any way, no masks, no facades. The mountains teach to be authentic. They teach courage and humility at the same time. They teach to push yourself and rest. They show your limits and resilience at once. They are beautiful, majestic and dangerous. They are just awesome in every way.
Between the mountains, there are also valleys. Some are wide and covered with wild flowers, filled with the sound of buzzing insects and running streams. Others are narrow and dark and feel like they are never-ending.

I use mountains and climbing metaphors to navigate my life. To see things differently, to find my way, to face challenges, to be courageous and to trust.
